Landscape Paintings
Julie Dyer Holmes loves painting outdoors! She supports that habit by traveling with a portable studio and a sketchbook, always. Recently, she, her husband and trusty dog traveled in their teardrop camper all the way up to Newfoundland, Canada. This trip and the return down the east coast to home in Raleigh, NC are the inspiration for many of the landscape paintings you’ll see in the gallery.
And, if you live in North Carolina, you may have a favorite beach. Julie and her family’s favorite beach is Topsail Island, NC. You will find paintings of the beautiful views of the ocean, clouds and sky at Topsail in the landscape gallery too.

Still Life Paintings
When the weather is unpredictable, Julie loves painting in her studio. There, she almost always has sketches of ideas for still life paintings and paintings in progress. Her goal is to capture patterns, light and objects you might overlook.
Ideally, she creates work to help herself, and hopefully you, see the world in a more colorful and connected way.
